I Help Leaders Get Focused
I’m Joseph Dozier.
I have spent my career inside organizations that ran on one person. I led operations, built teams, and developed leaders behind the scenes. And I watched the same thing happen everywhere I went: a capable leader ends up touching everything, and the whole thing stalls at the edge of what one person can carry.
I know it from the inside. I tried to be good at the things I am not good at, and I called it leadership.
Here is what I believe now. Nobody was built to be all things to all people. You were built for one thing. The job is to name what you are best at, staff the rest, and get great at your one thing again.
That is the whole of what I do. Twelve weeks with a leader, or once a month with a team. You supply every answer about your organization. I hold the framework and ask the questions.
Outside of this I am a husband and a father of four, and I am training for a sub-three-hour Olympic triathlon, which is its own lesson in only doing the thing that actually matters.
